This course is designed to teach you the basics of Arabic pronunciation and the rules of Tajweed, which is the science of reciting the Quran with correct pronunciation and intonation. The course will cover the following topics:

  • Joining letters
  • Rules of Tajweed
  • Practice exercises

• Who is this course for? This course is for anyone who wants to learn to read the Quran with correct pronunciation and intonation. It is especially suitable for beginners who have no prior knowledge of Arabic.

• What will I learn? By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Pronounce the Arabic alphabets correctly
  • Join letters together to form words
  • Apply the rules of Tajweed to your recitation of the Quran
  • Read the Quran with correct pronunciation and intonation

• How long will it take to complete the course? The course can be completed at your own pace. However, it is recommended that you set aside at least 30 minutes per day for study.

• What materials will I need?  You will need a copy of the Basic Qaidah, Yassar Nal Quran and a notebook for taking notes.

• How will I be assessed? You will be assessed on your ability to pronounce the Arabic alphabets correctly, join letters together to form words, and apply the rules of Tajweed to your recitation of the Quran.
